How to Say "Can I have a beer, please?" in 7 Foreign Languages Print E-mail

beer_bucket.jpg When traveling to foreign countries, it's important to know how to order a cerveza (that's beer in Spanish, dummy). Please don't worry about proper pronunciation. You're going to butcher their language no matter what you do. When all else fails, hold your hand out as if you're gripping an imaginary glass, cross your eyes in a drunken fashion, and raise your hand to your lips. They'll get the picture. Here's how to say "Can I have a beer, please?" in seven foreign languages:

  1. Spanish = ¿Puedo tener una cerveza, por favor?
  2. French = Puis-je avoir de la bière, s'il vous plaît ?
  3. German = Kann ich ein Bier bitte haben?
  4. Italian = Posso avere una birra, prego?
  5. Portuguese = Posso ter uma cerveja, por favor?
  6. Canadian = Can I have a beer, you hoser?
  7. Pirate = Can I be havin' a grog, please? Ya scurvy dog!
