Scenario: aliens land on Earth looking for intelligent life. They come across a talking parrot. They try to converse with it. The fate of Earth hangs in the balance...
Where do Easter eggs REALLY come from? Let's find out, boys and girls! I know, Easter is already past and you recently just got over the indigestion from all of the chocolate you ate. But I know you have always imagined what it would be like if Mr. Grieves cartoons moved, talked, and had sound effects. Well, now you will know. Enjoy a Mr. Grieves animated short:
Martha Kelly is a native of the Los Angeles area who moved to Austin to
get discovered by the powers that be. After being seen by several
muckity-mucks in our fair city, she got Hollywood heat, moved back out
west and we miss her terribly. She has been seen on Comedy Central and
the clip you are about to see was from the Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson.
She is every bit as charming as she comes across on stage and it has
been my privilege to know her. This clip is a great sneak-peek into the
wonderfulness that is Martha. If you get the chance, make every effort
to see her live (the dog bit at the end is one of my favorite jokes
ever!).
We hope you enjoy her as much as we do and if you see her, try to talk her into moving back to Austin!
This week Quirkee is proud to present another Texas comic. Paul
Varghese has not been doing comedy very long by industry standards, but
he has already amassed an impressive number of credits. Comedy clubs
all over the country are taking notice and inviting him to perform. He
has also been seen on Comedy Central when he was featured on the stand
up show, Live at Gotham. Every time I see him on stage I get a kick
from his very smart material. But we’d prefer to let his act speak for
itself. We think you’ll like him as much as we do.
*WARNING: This may not be appropriate to watch at work or with children around (language). So if need be, put on your headphones. It's worth it!
Well folks, it’s Thursday and our Quirkee Comedy Clip Contest has drawn to a
close. We had a lot of fantastic entries and we sincerely appreciate everyone
who bothered to send us their submissions. It wasn’t easy to pick a winner and
honestly, we laughed at pretty much every clip we got.
After a good
amount of review, arguments, and out & out physical threats between the
judges, our Contest Winner was Bob Biggerstaff.
Bob is presently
based out of Houston and his credits are impressive. He was a top 5 National
Finalist in the Sierra Mist “Search for America’s Next Great Comic 2005.” He was
also crowned Funniest Person in Houston and since then he has worked shows with
the greats such as Lewis Black, Dave Attel and Jim Gaffigan.
